Kinesiology
Kinesiology is a non-invasive, holistic approach that helps identify imbalances within the body and supports its natural ability to restore balance and function optimally. Using gentle muscle testing techniques, it highlights areas of stress, tension, or reduced function, resulting in a personalised and targeted treatment approach.
This therapy is supportive for individuals experiencing ongoing discomfort, low energy, stress, hormonal imbalance, or a general sense of being “not yourself.” The aim is to restore equilibrium and wellbeing, improve awareness of your body’s needs, and support greater physical and emotional health through a tailored, integrated approach.
Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine is a whole-plant system of healthcare and one of the oldest forms of medicine. As plants have natural therapeutic properties that support the body’s regulatory systems and help restore balance, it may be used for both prevention and targeted support for a wide range of concerns, including stress-related symptoms, digestion, immune health, chronic health conditions, hormone health, and skin concerns.
Herbal formulations are tailored to each person to address health concerns. May include tinctures, teas, powders, syrups, or topical creams and ointments.
Naturopathy or Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathy is a whole-person approach to health that focuses on addressing root cause and supporting the body’s natural ability to restore balance and function. It considers nutrition, lifestyle, stress, sleep, and health patterns to identify factors that may be contributing to ill-health.
By combining natural therapies, nutritional support, and practical lifestyle guidance, naturopathy integrates well with other therapies for individuals experiencing chronic conditions, fatigue, digestive concerns, hormonal imbalance, or ongoing health issues. Naturopathy works well alongside conventional treatments as part of an integrated approach to building and sustaining long-term health and wellbeing.
Reiki
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy therapy that supports relaxation and helps restore balance across physical, emotional, mental, and energetic wellbeing. Using light touch, Reiki aims to release tension, reduce stress, and promote a deep sense of calm, creating conditions for the body to rebalance naturally.
This therapy may be supportive for those experiencing stress, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, fatigue, or a general sense of imbalance. Many individuals report feeling calmer, more grounded, and better able to manage the demands of everyday life following a session.
FAQ
What is herbal medicine?
Herbal medicine is whole plant medicine and the oldest medicine on the planet. Medicinal plants are taken internally as extracts, teas, decoction and powders as well as applied externally as poultices, ointments and cream for their therapeutic values and medicinal effects.
Are herbs safe?
Yes, in general herbs are safe. However, it is not advisable to self-prescribe if pregnant or on any orthodox medication as herbs may interfere with the efficacy of the medication. In these cases it is always advisable to work with a qualified medical herbalist.
As I am on medication, is it safe to take supplements and herbs?
In general, yes. However, herbs may interfere with medication dosing and therefore it is very important that the herbalist knows which medications you are on so that they can make up a remedy that is safe for you to take alongside any medications.
What happens in a kinesiology treatment?
Laying fully clothed on a treatment couch, I will muscle test to understand where the imbalances are within your body. Imbalances are then corrected using a variety of techniques: structural corrections, energy work, emotional balancing and/or supplements such as herbs, flower essences, vitamins and minerals.
What is muscle testing?
Muscle testing is based on biofeedback, and we can identify where imbalances lie in the body and use the same biofeedback to decipher a plan of action which forms the treatment foundation. Muscle testing is very gentle, requiring no strength.
Can kinesiology diagnose conditions and diseases in my body?
Kinesiology does not diagnose or treat named diseases. Kinesiology is a holistic approach to treating the whole person by focusing on balancing the body’s energy and promoting its own healing abilities.
Is kinesiology effective for emotional issues?
Yes, kinesiology is particularly effective at addressing emotional challenges, helping to clear trauma, reduce anxiety and improve overall emotional well-being.
What is naturopathy?
Naturopathy, or naturopathic medicine, is based on the premise of “first do not harm”. It is a distinct approach to health care that employs natural, non-invasive therapies to stimulate the body’s self-healing mechanisms to treat the root cause. It is based on vitalism and focuses on holistic, personalized care—addressing body, mind, and spirit using nutrition, the healing power of nature, herbal medicine, lifestyle changes, and physical therapies.
What is reiki?
Reiki is considered “natural healing”. Reiki is an ancient healing system that has its roots in ancient Tibet. It works very deeply on all levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual to treat the whole person. Reiki can instil a profound sense of wellbeing and leave you looking and feeling radiant and at peace in yourself.
How many treatment sessions do I need?
It is difficult to give a definitive answer as everyone is different and therefore the number of sessions varies depending on your needs, health concerns and goals. If you prefer we can have a brief telephone or email conversation prior to making a booking so that I can give you a clearer understanding of number of sessions required. Typically there is 5-6 weeks between sessions and usually a minimum of three consultations.
Do I choose a preferred treatment approach, or will you advise me what is best in my situation?
An integrated approach provides most holistic benefit in addressing the root cause. However, if you wish you may also choose what you prefer – naturopathy, herbal medicine, kinesiology or reiki.
