Mrs W - Loss of Motivation for Life and Lack of Resilience

Lady married with son of 23. 57 years old. Does not work, took care of the son while growing up to take him try out sports and other activities while at school and University. Loves kayaking and is part of a club. Dislikes the politics within the club – she describes this as “too many egos!” Her freedom to kayak is very important to her and her husband is supportive, allowing her to go off for a few days kayaking at any particular time.

People and confrontation cause her stress. Finds it difficult to prioritise and multi-task due to low mental energy. Has a strong immune system and seldom has colds. She had a fit and healthy childhood in a supportive, loving family. From 2010 she has been unable to wear metals on her skin except for gold as it causes a skin reaction. She avoids wheat as it causes a skin rash and makes the digestion sluggish. Often suffers bouts of diahorrea.

Reasons for Seeking Assistance:

  • To help get more motivation to do things
  • Help becoming more resilient to what happens in life

Background

Suffers from Vitamin B12 deficiency for which she self-injects and every 3 months gets an injection on the NHS since Jan 2024

Vitamin D deficiency, takes 10,000 iu daily

Suffered very bad PMS since teens. Started on contraceptives in 1985, feels that is the cause

Took contraceptives until menopause at 45 then stopped

PMS affected work and led to depression in 1999

PMS gradually got worse while taking contraceptive pill. GP’s and specialists tried many things over the years, but nothing helped until menopause at 45

Mother and sister also experienced menopause at 45

1999/2000 son born, didn't go back to work. Just worked in a series of part time jobs

Hysterectomy (womb) in 2016

2004 Terminated a child due to chromosome disorder – “Edwards syndrome” as was unlikely to survive. Husband made the decision to terminate. She feels it was right due to how this might have affected her first born

2006 was put on anti-depressants and weened herself off over the last 6 months (2024)

2015 Polyps removed from bowel, one quite sizeable and consultant commented that it is “one step away from cancerous.”

2016 Hysterectomy to try to resolve the pain, but it didn't. Oestrogen patches help a bit.

2022 – blood tests showed B12 and Vit D deficiency. Vit D treated but refused further treatment when asked 6 months later to repeat. Refused B12 injections so took B12 tablets

2003-2024 Memory issues and crippling fatigue. Different GP put on B12 injections which have helped a lot. At same time started high dose Vit D against the Drs advice which gave her the possibility to decrease and stop taking anti-depressants

2024 – Before B12 injections kicked in (took about 3 months) had chest pains. 2 visits to A & E. Diagnosed with Costochondritis

Suffers stiff joints and pains in back and shoulders on either side of spine, especially lower back and knees. Sees an osteopath which helps.

Sleep regime

Sleeps 9-10 hours from approximately 11pm to 9am, does not feel refreshed. Vit B12 helps with improved sleep. Can wake in the night with circulating thoughts finding it difficult to get back to sleep.

Medication

Evorel oestrogen patches 2 x weekly since 2018 – helped with PMS during menopause. Menopause now complete, still using patches.

Supplements she was taking:

Folic acid, B Complex, Mg, Zinc, Calcium, K2, Selenium, Vitamins A & E, Chlorella, Sea Buckthorn, Chromium daily. Sometimes Boswelia and Curcumin.

Treatments

A combination of therapeutic energy kinesiology and herbal medicine were used in combination with naturopathic advice.

First consultation:

All supplements were reviewed and refined according to needs.

Orchid essences prescribed:

  • Necklace of Beauty for experiencing inner beauty, feeling loved and at peace.
  • Voice of Courage to help vocalise her thoughts and feelings in areas where she finds it difficult as well as bringing a strength of courage and renewed commitment to the soul’s deep purpose in life. Speaking one’s truth.
  • Just Centre – to focus on her own centre and ground herself.
  • Furnace of Life – to re-ignite her will power – see truth through the fog.

Naturopathic advice

  • Take Apple cider vinegar or the juice of half a lemon first thing in the morning in warm water to improve overall digestion.
  • Vary meals especially breakfast. Eat protein breakfast – egg, ham, to provide energy for longer.
  • Eat earlier before 7pm to have minimum 2 hours before going to bed.
  • Advised to see a naturopathic dentist to remove amalgam fillings over time.
  • Get a protective cover for the Wi-Fi router and change her place of sitting in the lounge so that she is not right next to the router.
  • Referral to doctor regarding stopping oestrogen patches.

Second Consultation

  • Client informed that she felt more motivated, even though she did not understand why.
  • Had put in place most recommendations except seeing the dentist.

Through kinesiology it was identified that she has liver congestion. Herbal tincture recommended to support liver function and liver health. Main herbs:

This trio energises the root and 2nd chakras helping release any blocked energy and has a clarifying effect on the energy of the higher chakras.

Naturopathic advice:

  • Get outside on a daily basis for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  • Ground yourself though deep breathing while standing barefoot on the grass
  • Take time out for yourself and do something different several times a week - go to the cinema, an exhibition or show, eat something different, meet a friend for lunch etc

Overall outcome:

Client was satisfied with her progress. She felt energised and motivated as well as more resilient. She noticed how she was reacting to situations and how normally those situations would dis-balance her, she remained calm. She was taking things more in her stride and was very happy with the outcome.
